Can you believe it is back to school already? Education has the power to transform not only individual lives, but the lives of the community and society as a whole. This Sunday morning, Pastor Jesse will be offering a blessing during our morning prayer in all three services for the students, parents, guardians, teachers, custodians, nurses, security officers, school officers, principals, assistant principals, administrators, counselors, mentors, public schools, private schools, homeschoolers, college and universities, and all who synergize to shape the leaders of the present and future generations. There will also be a separate blessing of the backpacks at the end of the 9:30 am service just for the children offered by Jo Lynne Anderson.

We will be making pies for the Asbury Cafe! The Pie Making Parties start at 1 pm and end at 5 pm. Feel free to stay for as long as you would like! Responsible children and youth are also invited. We would appreciate people that come early and stay late to help with set-up and clean-up. There are many roles during the Pie Making Parties including sitting down and standing up roles. Jobs include; mixing pie crust, rolling it, making the filling, putting the pies together, crimping, and packaging them. The recipes and instructions are provided. Hats and aprons are required, but you may bring your own or use the ones we have. Monetary donations are gladly accepted so we can buy items to make the pies. Please mark your donation "Pie Cafe." Starting in September, St. Stephen’s is offering an opportunity to participate in a church-wide event called “The Story.” An opportunity for the entire church family, our guests, and newcomers, this series enables us to read the entire Bible– from Genesis to Revelation. “The Story” is an abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel, helping people to understand God’s Word more fully and to engage more easily. There are many ways to participate, the sermons will follow the series. For a more in-depth study, you can join a Small Group during the week or on Sunday morning. Our youth and children will also follow the same curriculum.
