40 Days of Prayer
Our 40 Days of Prayer campaign begins this Sunday, February 25 and will go through April 5. Pick up your 40 Days of Prayer Workbook this Sunday in Fellowship Hall!
You are cordially invited to be a part of St. Stephen's 40 Days of Prayer during the Lenten season!
We will kick off this series on Saturday, February 24 from 5:00-6:30 pm with a Chili Cook-Off in the Fellowship Hall. We will have a friendly competition! This will be a great time of fellowship between our church and our preschool, Kids Under Construction. There will be 40 different varieties of chili to taste as well as many different varieties of cookies and breads. What better way to kick off Lent?!
Do not feel that you need to make chili or bake cookies/breads to participate! (We just want everyone to join in the fun, whether you decide to make a pot of chili or cookies/bread or not.) But if you do feel led and would like to participate in baking or cooking chili, please contact Jo Lynne Anderson at 293-9673 x. 104.

Kairos Prison Ministry
Would you consider following the words of Jesus saying, “I was in prison and you visited Me.” The weekend of May 17-20 is the next Kairos Prison Ministry weekend event that will be held at the Guadalupe County Correctional Facility in Santa Rosa. The first of five team meetings preparing for this event begin in March. If you want to know more or have interest in participating in this great ministry opportunity, please contact Pastor John at 293-9673.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is in need of substitute drivers. Contact Volunteer coordinator Janice at 823-8064. There will be a short 2 hour training period. Deliveries usually take 2 hours or less, and you can pick your dates and routes to deliver.
Children's Ministry News
Are you (or someone you know) going through a hard life situation? Did you know St. Stephen's has a large assortment of helpful booklets called Care Notes available for free? The Care Notes are located on a wooden display in the Narthex (next to the Welcome Center), and topics range from dealing with cancer, dementia, the loss of a pet, loss of a spouse or child, grieving the loss of a job, child and teenage issues, dealing with the process of aging, depression, and many more. There is also a selection of Care Notes written specifically for teenagers. Please take as many as you’d like.
Did you know there is a large metal crate in the Fellowship Hall for collecting Storehouse donations? Our state consistently ranks in the top three in the nation in hunger and has the highest rate of child poverty in the United States. You can help by just adding a few extra items to your grocery cart. The Storehouse always needs Ramen Noodles, peanut butter, canned goods (all kinds), and dog and cat food (any kind, any size). Thank you!
Breast Cancer Surgery Ministry
Joyce King has a ministry of making comfort pillows for anyone having breast cancer surgery. Recipients do not need to be members of St. Stephen's. The pillows are available in the church office.
We Want to Pray for You!
Did you know St. Stephen's has a vibrant prayer chain? We do, and we want to pray for you! Prayer requests can be submitted one of four ways:
* ONLINE - Click here to send your prayer request.
* SUNDAY MORNINGS - Using the bulletin insert, write your prayer request and then place it in the offering plate or in the brown wooden box in the Narthex.
* PHONE CALL - Call us at 293-9673 to leave your prayer request.
* EMAIL - Email your prayer request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the meantime, any time a worry begins to enter your thoughts, turn it into a prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 — “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Did you know you can give financial gifts to St. Stephen’s via electronic transfer? Your bank will deduct from your bank account your monthly contribution to the church on the date you specify and will transfer that amount to St. Stephen’s checking account. Just like a mortgage or car payment, your monthly contribution to the church through electronic giving makes it simple to support the church. More information: Please contact Ashleigh McLean at the church office at 293-9673 x 102.
