HopeWorks (formerly Project Share) is an organization serving Albuquerque's homeless and low-income population with a hot meal most nights of the week.

Ministry Leader: Donna Berry

Community of Hope is a ministry supported by a number of churches in Albuquerque. It is aimed at reaching our community by providing a worship service and a meal for the homeless, poor and hungry. These people don’t always feel comfortable in a regular sanctuary service. It is affiliated with First United Methodist Church at 3rd and Lead. It is held in the Fellowship Hall at 1:00 pm on Sunday afternoons. Communion, food, music, prayer and good preaching occur at COH. St. Stephen’s UMC provides the meal on the second Sunday of each quarter. We use a set menu of lasagna, salad and fruit cups. Meals in 2019 are January 6, April 7, July 7, and October 6.

St. Stephen’s donates 12 portion ready-made or homemade lasagnas,, bags or boxes of salad, salad dressing and fruit cups. St. Stephen’s also sends volunteers to cook, serve and distribute the food, setup and take-down as well as kitchen cleanup. Contact Donna Berry at 505-604-4487 or dbyellow@comcast.net if you would like to volunteer at any time and signup to bring food for the scheduled meals.
